Grand Theft Auto Five was released back in 2013, and is still being played and updated frequently, the most recent update included yachts that you can live on! Most of the best moments I've ever had while playing a video game with my friends was when playing Grand Theft Auto Five. I don't play it much anymore, but as soon as I get a Playstation 4, I will be all over that game. It has a great story mode if you don't like playing online, but I think that playing online is the best, you can create your character, and then the game just sets you free to do whatever you want, you could go straight into doing a heist, or simply finding your favorite car and taking it to get it repainted your favorite color. I would suggest going straight into a heist, as everything in Grand Theft Auto Online is very expensive, i think the most expensive thing is $10 million, and one heist will get you maybe $500,000. It seems easy to get that much money, but it's really not, it takes forever to finish one heist, maybe 2 hours, so be prepared to save up for a while. You can play in either first person or third person, but I would suggest sticking with third person, as first person is really hard to control compared to third person. You can't go wrong with buying this game, no matter what you plan to do on the it. I would give it an overall 9/10.
Battlefield Hardline takes a very different approach to the Battlefield series, as all of the other Battlefield games use a Military style setting, Hardline uses a cops and criminals setting. I personally don't like the cops versus criminals theme, but I won't hate anyone that does. The game is very fun, and there is a lot to do in it. One thing I like about Hardline in particular is it's Hotwire mode, which to make it simple, is basically stealing a car and driving it around the map while your teammates lean out the window and shoot everyone in sight. Running over someone while driving is very satisfying, as you get a free kill, and the person you killed is probably so mad at you. Some things in the game don't appeal to me, a couple of the guns are very overpowered, and DICE still hasn't fixed them, so getting killed by a K10 in the game is very common, so be prepared for that. If you're looking for a game that you can sit down and just have a good time playing with your friends on, then this is your game. There are a lot of cool easter eggs in the game. If you are a cop and you run up to a box of donuts on one of the maps, your character will scream something about how good donuts are. In the fun department I give Hardline a 10/10, but in the seriousness department, like playing to be competitive, I give it a 5/10.
Battlefield 4 is one of the most played, and in my opinion, the best first person shooters out right now. It is a military style first person shooter, and it has a lot of content. There is the base game, 5 DLCs, and DICE, the game's developing studio are constantly creating free DLC for everyone such as a community made map, a night map, and they update the game every season to fix anything wrong with it. It's being worked on so much that I don't even know how they are managing to work on the development of Battlefield 5. There are about 104 guns in the game, according to the games wikipedia page, but that number seems about right. If you want a game that has a lot of content, and is fun as well as tactical, then this is the game for you. The gameplay is a lot different than Call of Duty's, so don't expect to rush into an enemy base and spray them all down (unless you're like a gaming god, then in that case, go ahead) so all you Call of Duty kids should stay away from this game, go back to flying around and 360 quickscoping people. To anyone new player, I would suggest using the M416, as it unlocks relatively quickly, and it's a very good gun in any situation. You can't go wrong with a shotgun either, those things are super overpowered. Make sure to find a pistol that you really like, you'll probably end up using it a lot.
A while back i played the closed beta for Rainbow Six Siege and I didn't think I would ever buy this game, but after hearing so many good things about it from my friends I decided to go buy Rainbow Six Siege and play it. It has greatly improved since the closed beta in a couple of ways. Starting off with matchmaking. Back in the closed beta, it took maybe 20 minutes to find a game at first, but now with the actual game, I found my first game in less than 30 seconds. That could be because of the fact that there were less people in the closed beta, but I think the matchmaking was just horrible back then. The second thing they fixed was the recoil of the guns, in the beta, the guns kicked all over the place, but now you can actually handle the weapon's recoil. This time around I actually understand how to play the game, so I learned more of the mechanics of the game and I can give a few tips. At the beginning of a game, the defenders 45 seconds to fortify their position and set up traps for the attackers, while the attackers use drones to scout out whatever map you're playing on, and try to find either the bomb, or the hostage. The gameplay is very tactical, so to all of you Call of Duty kids, don't just rush in and wildly spray your bullets. It only takes about 3-4 bullets to kill someone by shooting them in the chest and limbs, but if you're really accurate, you can drop anyone in one shot, with any weapon. So far, I've only seen two game modes in multiplayer, Bomb Defusal and Hostage Rescue. Both consist of the attackers trying to get into the building that the defenders are holed up in, and either taking out the entire enemy team, or completing the objective. The best advice i can give attackers is to take it slow, and try to work with your team. One strategy I've found useful is to have most or all of your team breach one room at the same time, but if your team just doesn't want to work with you, you can always place a breach charge on a window, and then find another entrance to the objective room, and using the breach charge as a distraction, try to clear the room yourself. Being on the defending side can be really easy if you know what you're doing. I suggest using a suppressor on your gun, and slowly move around the building, and try to take out the attackers from behind. If you stay in the objective room, you may as well just give them the hostage. The attackers are all going to one place, so keep them guessing on where you are, as they won't breach a room without knowing some locations of enemies.
If you've ever played a Bethesda game, you'll love this review, and if you haven't played a Bethesda game, then you can probably just stop reading here. Fallout 4 is such an amazing game, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun game to play. As well as a great story, this game has almost unlimited content. You could probably get 500+ hours of gameplay in and not get bored. But if you really want unlimited content, then I would suggest getting it on PC, because you get the amazing content that comes with the game, along with content from mods, which we already have a ton of. I myself have a lightsaber mod active, so i get to walk around chopping arms off, and that's pretty satisfying. But if you have to stick with a console, then you'll still have tons of fun on this game. Fallout 4 is set in a post-apocalyptic Boston in the year 2287, 210 years after a devastating nuclear war, in which your character emerges from an underground bunker known as a Vault. After exiting the vault, you return to your old home town, which was destroyed during the nuke, and when you find nobody there, you go to the next town, and along the way, you find a dog that becomes your companion. Most of the rest of the story is up to you, however you decide to play the game, is how it will unfold. I highly recommend giving this game a try.
After about a month since it's came out, I'll finally do a review on Black Ops 3's Campaign and Zombies modes. I'll start out with campaign so I can save the best for last. The campaign is very good, in my opinion. It looks amazing, and the story is great. It's a bit confusing if you don't pay attention to exactly what's going on. Some scenes are calm, and some are the most intense thing you've ever seen, like you're in a Michael Bay movie. I won't say anything about what goes on in the story, as there are so many plot twists, so I guess you'll have to find out yourself. So with that, let's move on to what I waited three years for, Zombies. The zombies mode in Black Ops 3 is great so far, hopefully Treyarch doesn't screw it up. Black Ops 3 is the first Treyarch Call Of Duty on the next gen consoles, so naturally, they put more zombies in, which makes it harder to train because they just keep spawning. If you play zombies, camping somewhere like the catwalk on The Giant is a better strategy than training. However, on Shadows of Evil, there are no really good camping spots, so you'll just have to make the best of training in the rift. I recently got to round 40 while training in the rift, and it's pretty difficult. The guns in Black Ops 3 Zombies are all around good guns, there aren't really any guns like the SMR or the War Machine. Every gun except for maybe the Pharo is alright to use. You could dig your own grave with the Pharo faster than you can kill a zombie with that 4-round burst monstrosity of a gun. Stay away from it if you know what's good for you.
Heroes & Generals is a very fun WWII shooter. I haven't played it for about a month and a half but I'm sure after this review I'm going to go back and play it again. There are some bad things to it and some good things to it, so I guess I'll go over the good things before the bad things. First of all, the guns are awesome, not too strong, not too weak. They are perfectly balanced in my opinion. It's very hard to run, so you need a very good PC if you want to play this game at it's best. Second, the maps are very open so sniping is very easy, but they also have small areas where submachine guns excel, and also areas where semi-auto rifles excel. The maps are so balanced, and the guns are balanced, so there is really no excuse to do bad at this game, except for your own lack of skill. That's why I do horrible at the game, I have no skill. And on the bad side, the game can easily lag if too many explosions happen around you. You'll easily drop from 60 frames per second to 25 frames per second. If you ever decide you want to play this game, remember this one tip; take it slow when moving throughout the map, if you go too fast, it will be very hard to get any kills, and you'll just have to respawn and run all the way back to where you were.
Dirty Bomb is a very interesting game. It basically combines Counter Strike: Global Offensive and Call of Duty, so if you're a fan of both, you should love this game. The damage model in this game is very strange, it can take about 8 shots for a kill with an assault rifle. This whole game is basically a strange game altogether. If you want a different game than all of the others, try this game out for sure. It's a free to play game on steam and it's set in London with a couple different game modes to play, and it has a couple different characters you can play as. It's very easy to learn the game, almost anyone can play this game, as long as you have a pc, which is basically only cool people. The guns look very cool and if you aren't careful you can find yourself just staring at the guns, I know I have. The character models look great, for a free to play game, a lot of time was put into this game, which probably means a lot of money as well. I wish that the people who made it would make it at least $15 for the amount of work they put in it it, they deserve it. It's been a good while since I have played the game but after this review and remembering how good the game actually is, besides the damage model, I'm probably going to go back and play the game.
I recently bought Tomb Raider because it was on sale for $4, and I couldn't be more happy with the purchase. It's a very detailed game with a great story, and if you're patient enough, there is a ton of things you can do aside from the regular story. It also has a multiplayer which I haven't tried out yet, but I watched a video on it, and it looks very good. I'll try it out after I finish the story mode, but until then, I'll just tell you what I like about the story mode. First of all, it's basically Assassin's Creed and Uncharted, so if you like the stealth of Assassin's Creed, but also like the all out gunfights of Uncharted, then you've found the perfect game. Second, the guns are very good, and upgrading them does not take long into the story to do. If I knew about this game when it came out, I would've bought it full price no doubt. This game is one of the best games I've ever played and I highly suggest that everyone buys this game and plays it nonstop forever. You will not regret playing this game for the rest of your life. There is a couple bad things to it but they are so minor it doesn't really make much of a difference. One problem is that the game gets very laggy during some cutscenes, but who watches cutscenes anyway, am I right? And that's all I have to say about that.
Insurgency is literally the most realistic game ever. If you enjoy realistic games, and/or play airsoft, you would love this game, talking to you, Isaac.
I can't say anything bad about this game, so let's just get into the good things. First, the gunplay is amazing, you can drop someone with two bullets from any weapon from anywhere on the map. The guns don't kick too much, so you won't be all over the place when you try to drop an enemy. And if the recoil is too much for you, you can just switch the semi-auto to conserve ammunition and to land more accurate shots. Second, the maps are designed with nothing but tactical gameplay in mind. The maps are basically like Rainbow Six Siege's, but bigger. Third, the teams are set up in squads, so that every player chooses a role and they only get a certain type of weapon, so not everyone is a sniper on an open map, and not everyone is running around with shotguns. Fourth, you don't have a HUD with everything crowding your screen, it's just the gun, the amount of mags you have left, and that's it. It won't even tell you if you're looking at a teammate or an enemy. Some servers don't even have a killfeed! Lastly, it's a very relaxing game, it seems like it should be a game where you have to try 24/7, but you really don't. It's so easy to just jump into a game and have fun. |
